It's been a very busy summer for Kids Celebrate Soldiers. What a blessing it has been to receive boxes and envelopes full of cards - one a time, and hundreds at a time. So far we have sent out thousands of cards, and are anxious to send out more. We're leaving in a few minutes to mail twelve more packages to soldiers containing about 800 total cards and letters. But I still have some here at home because I'm so short on soldier addresses. Please keep those cards and letters coming, and if you know a soldier who would enjoy receiving a package from us, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks for all you're doing to support our troops.

So
far we've collected about 1400 cards and letters
from kids and adults. This is a terrific response, but we need more!
Please keep them coming! If you've already sent cards, thank you
- and SEND MORE!

Kristin
visited with Pioneer Services in Kansas City, MO recently. Pioneer
offers clients unique solutions for financial freedom. They exclusively
serve the military community, and offer products and services that
will help these individuals achieve their financial goals. Because
of Kids Celebrate Soldiers, Pioneer has created blank thank you cards
for soldiers. They are sending a supply of these blank cards to their
25 offices to be completed and mailed back to us. They hope to generate hundreds
or even thousands of cards for soldiers. Thank you Pioneer!
Over
the past month, we have received package after package of the most
wonderful letters and cards from kids to soldiers. Many have come
from schools. We read each and every piece of mail to be sure it's
appropriate, and we're proud to say that not one single card
or letter has been inappropriate in any way. Keep up the
great work! American kids are terrific!
The
very first cards we received after the campaign started were from
a class of severely disabled children. Although they could not write
messages (their teacher helped in this regard), they each painted
a red, white, and blue picture to send to soldiers. What a blessing!
We've
started getting a steady stream of cards and letters! But it's
not nearly the amount we need to come close to our goal. This is
where we need the most help now. If you can help us generate more
cards, please do!
Some
school, church and civic organizations have gotten involved. Today
we received 19 full-page letters to soldiers from students in a middle
school in Gardner, KS. What a lot of hard work they put in!
Based
on a special request from a military wife, this week we sent 2 packages
of 30 cards each to two units in the Middle East. If you have special
requests like this, please let us know and we'll help.

nationwide shipping service has donated the post office box to
accept mail for the soldiers.
An anonymous woman has volunteered a 12x15 storage
bin so we don't have to keep all the mail in our basement.
Friday,
April 9: I
was interviewed on KFKF,
the biggest Country radio station in the Kansas City area. Because
of that, I have received many, many emails with offers to help. KFKF
also sent an email out to their "Loyal Listener" club with
information about Kids Celebrate Soldiers.
A Boy Scout and Girl Scout troop in the area have offered to
volunteer any help necessary.
A woman who owns my school's recycling company will put information
in her April newsletter that goes out to 800 schools.
We
are bringing blank computer-made cards to our schools to help convince
others to sign them and make pictures or notes inside.
A friend has created the Kids Celebrate logo and web site for free,
and his company has donated the web hosting for
the duration of the project.
A soldier who recently came home from Iraq and whose job
was in the Postal department is working with us to assure that
getting the mail to the soldiers will happen in an effective and
efficient way with little or no upheaval on the part
of the military.
